My name is Allyson (Ally) Lang and I am very excited to be helping out as this year's graduate assistant for the 2024 grant year. I am currently a student in the school counseling master's program at West Virginia University and was lucky enough to also have graduated from West Virginia University with my Bachelor of Arts degree in a Sociology major and my double minor in Psychology and Communications. I have spent my undergraduate experience helping out children of all different backgrounds and abilities which has led me to wanting to pursue my counseling degree and career. My life goal has always been to help others in any way that I can including educating others on mental illness and bringing light to social justice. My primary goals and aspirations of becoming a school counselor are centered around not only being an advocate for students to learn and grow, but also being a safe place for any student to come to and helping them learn about mental health. Furthermore, helping youth become the best versions of themselves as they grow and develop is important to me including making sure they are happy and healthy.
